Somnambulism aims at exploring Yugoslav collective memory since the death of Tito.
It looks at the forms that such collective memory assumed in the last three decades, during the war and in its aftermath. The Yugoslav inertia has been interpreted as a metaphoric long sleepwalking in the time, registering both the past and the present issues, in the land where the feeling of being Yugoslav, intended as its inborn tolerance and multiculturalism, was born and where the socialist slogan of Brotherhood and Unity was deeply perceived.
The concept unfolds in four ideal chronological stages, expressed in four chapters: Somnambulism, Amnesia, Consciousness, and … ... And Somnambulism Again
